Turmeric's Health Benefits & Tea Recipe

Turmeric Benefits & Tea  Recipe

My husband and I sip this ginger & turmeric tea any time we feel a "head cold-tight chest-i think I may be getting sick" feel coming on.  But what are the health benefits of the spice turmeric?

Turmeric is the spice that gives curry its yellow color, and if full of "greatness" that naturally helps your body in so many ways.

Curcumin is the main ingredient in turmeric.  Because there isn't enough curcumin in the spice turmeric to get the full benefits, you need to take a supplement that contains curcumin for best results.

When choosing a supplement, make sure it contains piperine.  This is a natural substance that enhances the absorption of the curcumin

Curcumin is also fat soluble, so it's a good idea to take it with a meal.

Turmeric, a Natural Anti-Inflammatory

The reason we began using turmeric was because of the anti-inflammation properties.  Curcumin is a strong anti-inflammatory. In fact, it’s so powerful that it some doctors and patients alike say it's just as effective as medication, without the side effects.

Also, there is evidence that turmeric can actually increase brain function, lower your risk of heart disease, help in treating Alzheimer, and even help with arthritis!

Here is an easy ways to start adding turmeric into your daily diet:  Note:  Turmeric will stain anything you use to make this tea, so maybe use a special pot just for this tea.

Turmeric & Ginger Tea Recipe:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/2 tsp fresh chopped ginger
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp honey  (yes, I love it right from my hive!)
  • 1 lemon wedge

Instructions

Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan; add turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain tea if desired, (I just drink with all the spices because they're so good for you) into a large glass; add honey and lemon wedge.

Enjoy!

This delicious immune-boosting homemade tea is AMAZING.  Have you ever used turmeric? What do you do when you don't feel good?  Share your thoughts below.  Also, feel free to share this blog post with your friends and family or on social media.

    My morning routine indeed.
It’s way better if it’s with Bioperine.
